How To Prepare For Your Next Trip

You know that one friend that is never home and is always traveling to different…well I’m that friend. Los Angeles? My bags are already packed! New York? When are we buying our tickets?  Virgin Islands? Give me the dates and I am there! If I could travel the world, meet new people, and eat delicious food while getting paid I would never retire! I love getting off the plane and smelling the fresh air from my new destination and I do not know about you, but every location smells different lol. But that is a topic for another blog post, let’s get back to talking about traveling and why you need to get out of the house this year. The last two years have been difficult for everyone and being stuck in the house taught me that the world is a beautiful place and I need to enjoy every moment of my life.

Create an Itinerary

I am a Virgo and I like to be prepared for any trip or event I am about to attend. I must know what outfits to bring, best locations to get pictures and if I need to beat my face or leave it natural. Creating an itinerary allows for you to create a trip budget, list of activities and what days to do it on.

Flight

To start the planning for your trip, your first priority is to find a reasonable ticket. Personally, I do not book my flights directly on the airline websites because the ticket prices are always EXPENSIVE and those Covid flight prices have vanished. So, if you are like me and you like to stay within your budget, I would recommend checking out flights on Google Flights or Justfly. These two websites are my favorite because you can purchase tickets on different airlines for one affordable price or they inform you on which dates are cheapest to depart and return. I also used Priceline, Kayak and Travelocity to find other reasonable flight options.

Lodging

Picking lodging for a trip is not for the weak. You must consider the location, amenities, and read the reviews from previous guests. When deciding on where to stay first I would look at the location and see how far it is from your activities. After determining which location is the best, you should start to look for lodging in that specific area or nearby. When narrowing down on your choices you should ALWAYS read the reviews from guests. The reviews give you a clear picture on what you stay might be like. You should also check or ask about the amenities to see if they will be a benefit to your trip. By picking your desired lodging, you can feel like you’re “home” while away.

Transportation

Having to plan how you are going to get around always makes me want to scream. Car Rentals? Expensive. Ubers or Lyfts? Now Expensive. Chile public transportation can be a hassle sometimes also. After determining where you are going to stay at, you can figure out how far each place is from each other. I would suggest researching to see if your car insurance or bank has a partnership with any car rental business. They usually have special deals and packages for customers which are more reasonable than renting the car directly from the website. However, if driving is not an option than I would recommend downloading both Uber and Lyft. The prices fluctuate at different times so I would bounce back and forth from each app to see which one has the better price. But if driving or using a car service is not an option, then I would gather information about the trains, buses, or taxis. You will be aware of any delays and can be reroute on your way to your activities.
